About Me – Part I

My 4th grade teacher taught us the books of the OT to the tune of “Did You Ever See a Lassie”; and, we sang w/her every morning while she accompanied us on the guitar.  I remember singing many Bible songs every week in chapel while at Pease Christian School.  Then, the summer before 6th grade I went to Trout Lake Bible Camp and remember making the decision to accept Jesus as my Savior w/my counselor.

Music has always been a part of my life.  I started taking piano lessons in Kindergarten from my Mom; and, then in 2nd grade, I started taking violin lessons in St. Cloud, MN.  In 5th grade, I started taking clarinet lessons from the band teacher in Milaca.  I loved going to piano contests, winning districts, advancing to region/state, and being selected to participate in the piano duet concert at Orchestra Hall!  What an awesome experience!  When you are a winner, you advance to the next age level no matter how old you are.  By the time I got to be a Senior, I was playing the Senior B (college level).  Playing the piano for me was like therapy; because, no matter what kind of day I had, I would come sit at the piano & pound out my thoughts, etc.  In 6th grade, I started taking piano lessons from a different teacher in Milaca, MN.
